A Message from Chairman of the Board, Chris Gontarz
It was 45 Years ago when my best friend from NYC went off to the Novitiate in Narragansett to join the DeLaSalle Christian Brothers that I had my first introduction to the Lasallian charism and its powerful message of ministering to the less fortunate members of our society.
Since that time, I have had an ongoing affiliation with the DeLaSalle Brothers. Today that relationship continues and I am honored to be the first lay person to have been named as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tides Family Services. Brother Michael Reis, CEO of Tides has taken the Lasallian mission, “to touch the lives of the young and their families…and offer our presence and service for the authentic human development…of those entrusted to our care” and applied with great enthusiasm and vigor to those families in Rhode Island that Tides Family Services deals with.
Tides Family Services provides support and services to those individuals who are most in need. The Board of Directors firmly endorses the Tides motto, “we never give up on a kid…never”.
