Brother Michael Reis receives Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Award
On October 27th 2010, Bank of America held its fourth annual Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Awards celebration at the John Hope Settlement House in Providence.
Our Founder and CEO Brother Michael Reis, FSC was among five individuals who were named “Local Heroes” by Bank of America and its Local Market Selection Committee. The prestigious award was presented by Mr. William F. Hatfield, the Market President for BOA in Rhode Island.

Tides Family Services is Growing
Tides Family Services of West Warwick, an agency dedicated to serving at risk youth and their families, is growing in many ways. In addition to expanding its presence in Rhode Island by serving 500 families each day, Tides staff is growing flowers and vegetable plants at its West Warwick office located on 215 Washington Street.

Since 1983 when Brother Michael Reis founded Tides Family Services, the agency has successfully grown from its humble beginnings with about $15,000 in seed money and an office no bigger than a supply closet to one which now has a budget exceeding $5 million and over 100 employees. Newport County Fund announces small grant award recipients
The Newport County Fund (NCF), through its small grants program, has awarded $110,144 to 16 local nonprofit organizations. The program supports organizations that have proposed projects where a relatively small amount of money can be of strategic assistance. The NCF grants will help these 16 Newport County-based nonprofits develop, strengthen, and expand new and existing community programs that are addressing issues of importance to local residents.An Evening with Chris Matthews

12/3/11 - Providence, RI - On Saturday evening Chris Matthews of MSNBC's Hardball attended a special reception and booksigning event to benefit Tides Family Services, based in West Warwick, with 6 locations throughout the state of Rhode Island. The host of "Hardball" has recently authored and released a new book titled Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero.
