We are in need of a full time (32 hour) HR Director to join our team to oversee the daily human resources operations of the agency to help us continue our mission of instilling hope and anchoring families.Tides Family Services is a non-traditional agency that works with over 500 high-risk youth and their families in the core cities of Providence, Woonsocket, Central Falls/Pawtucket, Coventry, Warwick, and West Warwick. Our community-based programs (including strength-based counseling, structured recreation, cognitive behavioral therapy, after-school programming and two small, licensed schools) service youth, aged 6-21, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. We are a team of energetic and impassioned outreach workers, social workers, and teachers working day and night to meet with youth and their families.
Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading, guiding and facilitating the development and attainment of a fully capable and effective staff organization and of human resources values, policies, and practices. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for ensuring an open, clear and timely communication system in regards to employee matters. In addition, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for the oversight of the Agency’s human resource management and personnel policies and procedures. Director of Human Resources works directly for the COO but will also work cooperatively with the Agency’s CEO, agency administrators and is responsible for the oversight and supervision of all directors and supervisors regarding human resource matters.
Director of Human Resources serves as a consultant to operations on human resource related issues within specific operational area or physical location defined by the Tides Family Services organizational structure. Successful Director of Human Resources are employee champions and change agents. This role is responsible for implementing and enforcing the strategic HR direction at the guidance of the CEO and COO in the areas of recruitment, training and development, change management, employee relations, compensation, and benefits. Collaboration with members of not only the location-specific HR team, but also front-line management in the operational area. Regular interaction with the agency department managers is essential to assess and anticipate HR-related needs and issues.
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline required. Minimum of 5 plus years of Human Resource experience required. Must be well organized, detail oriented, possess strong follow-up skills, time management, proven record of confidentiality, and can work independently. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Previous supervisory experience required. Must have proficient knowledge of office automation and HRIS applications.
