TIDES FAMILY SERVICES

Fund-a-Need

$5,000 helps to fund a student to attend one of our Tides Schools.  The Tides school specializes in working with at risk, traumatized, special needs students from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds who need a smaller, therapeutic setting in order to reach their educational goals. The Tides School provides a connection to community and access to healthy, supportive relationships, coupled with appropriate educational services. The mission of The Tides School is to carry on the LaSallian Mission and provide the services and supports our students need.

$1,000 funds a youth for our BMR program, where we offer informal counseling, therapeutic groups such as art group, and movie group, a parent-support group, educational advocacy, support with basic needs, support with linkages to psychiatric care and/or more formal counseling, increased connections to the community, life-skills development such as resume writing, how to apply for a job, how to dress for a job, in-person and virtual response to families, and individualized goal setting.

$500 funds a family for the holidays including food and gifts.

At Tides Family Services We Exist to Instill Hope And Anchor Families.

Instilling hope It means seeing everyone’s greatest potential, never putting conditions on relationships and standing by our motto of, ‘no reject, no eject.’

Anchoring families It means acknowledging that if we want to see real, lasting change, it’s critical to strengthen families. We never give up—never!

That’s What We Care About. Every day, more than 500 families rely on Tides to make changes in their lives that promote stability and independence and influence lasting generational change.

MORE ON US

Tides is a non-traditional agency, unlike any other. Our “no-walls” philosophy puts us in the heart of neighborhoods our clients live—the most distressed and poverty-stricken areas of Rhode Island. Our community-based programs service these youth, aged 6-21, and we’re there for them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Our programs include strength-based counseling, structured recreation, cognitive behavioral therapy, after-school programming and two small, licensed schools.

We believe in doing whatever it takes, for as long as it takes.
Join us and help impact these children, their families, and in turn, our communities at large.
