SUSAN KERSHAW-SCZUROSKI

VICE PRESIDENT OF STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Susan rejoins Tides Family Services as VP of Staff Development. She has been a licensed independent clinical social worker in RI since 1999 and a licensed clinical social worker in CT since 2015. She has been working with adolescents and families for 30 years; hired by Brother Michael Reis as a bachelor level caseworker in 1992.

Graduating with a BSW from Rhode Island College and a MSW from Boston University, Susan also worked as a therapist, supervisor, Clinical Director, VP & Sr VP of Treatment Programs and eventually as Chief Operating Officer at Tides Family Services, Inc. She is the 2011 recipient of the NASW Robert S. Burgess Community Service Award and proud co-founder of PFN services at Tides.

During her time away from Tides, Susan worked for Tides’ partner agency, Community Care Alliance (CCA) as the Director at Sunrise Community School in Killingly, CT for the 2015-2016 school year, later joining TEEG, a human services agency and Youth Service Bureau (YSB) in North Grosvenordale, CT as Clinical Director in which she continues to provide clinical consultation. Throughout this time, Susan began her private practice at Inlight Professional Counseling Services until opening SKS Counseling Services, Inc.

Susan is enjoying her return to her Lasallian roots at Tides describes feeling like she is “back home”. When not working, Susan can be found relaxing with her husband, Chuck and their family.
